FAMILY: This week I will be picking up one of my 9 year old's friends and taking them both to the pool for the day. We go almost every day as a family, when the weather's nice, but I'm going to take my younger two to the babysitter and just take my oldest. That way I can go down the water slide and off the diving boards too. :) Next week if also my sister-in-law's bday, so I'm going to keep my niece overnight so she can go to Chicago for a night out with her boyfriend. We'll have a full day and night of cousin fun!
SCHOOL: I began diving into the 7th grade curriculum (new grade level for me next year), and still have a lot to do. The teacher that I'll be sharing the 7th grade classes with is very organized, so I'm really excited about that. I'm transitioning a lot of what she's used into an Interactive notebook, so I've got a lot of work to do! My hope is to be through the first unit by the end of the week.
WHOLE BRAIN TEACHING: I've got a free Skype sessions planned with some amazing schools this week, and am really excited to provide a free, hour-long Introduction to WBT Skype. This week I'll be chatting with teachers in Kansas and iowa. If you'd like to set up a free Skype for you and some of your colleagues, please complete this form. I'm also going to be working on a new blog post for the first week of school. I already have one for the first day, so I'll be extending that out into the first week. This shows how to introduce the WBT strategies into an upper grade classroom.

I am the oldest child too and really loved when my mom would do something special just with me. I hope you and your oldest have a great time at the pool! I see that you live in northern IL. Where about? I grew up in Mundelein, owned our first home in Gurnee and now live just over the border in WI.
