5 Step Lesson Plans

EARTH SCIENCE
What is relative age? -This is a package for middle school earth science teachers wanting to teach the concept of relative age. It includes a lesson plan using the 5 step lesson plan from Whole Brain Teaching, a Power Pix with question, answer, picture, and gesture, as well as links to a Google Doc for collaborative writing, pdf for teaching sentence writing, and content information. All activities are linked to the Next Generation Science Standards.

Understanding Rock LayersThis lesson focuses on the Next Generation Science Standard MS-ESS1-4. Students will learn how to gather evidence from rock layers to learn about the history of the Earth. The lesson is set up using whole brain teaching's 5 step lesson plan, and includes a SMART document for SMART Response clickers (but can easily be adapted for no-tech), as well as a document that can be used with Google Drive for collaborative writing.
